To those fighting for a better world

In my therapeutic work, I support people with a variety of experiences and circumstances, but I have particular admiration and passion for serving those who give deeply of themselves to create a meaningful difference in the world, who stand up for the vulnerable, who fight for the ecosystems upon which we depend, and who simply want a better life for all of us. People including…

Social and environmental activists

Those involved in conservation, research & ecological restoration

Community-builders and organizers

Farmers and supporters of local food security

Permaculturists

Educators and healers

Being a part of the scene in my own ways, I understand the unique challenges and stressors that come from deep caring and self-sacrifice - everything from burnout and despair to trauma from abuse by law-enforcement and alienation from mainstream society. I’ve learned the hard way that we can’t do this alone, and leaning into our communities is always a good idea, but sometimes we need to focus more intentionally on ourselves. I’m aware that that not all mental health professionals really get it, or take things like ecoanxiety or the complex trauma of routinely confronting these issues seriously.

I invite all change-makers and caring people (those who aspire to get involved as well) to reach out when you need help. You are incredibly important, and you deserve to be supported. Using a dynamic and integrative blend of treatment methods, I can help you cultivate the confidence and resilience, creativity, clarity, connection and passion to step more fully into your life's purpose.

My goal is to make support increasingly accessible to people in this broad community over time. For more details on this, see the italicized text.

This private counselling practice is a new and developing project. At present I am able to provide a very limited number of sliding-scale spots to people in crisis, those with financial difficulties and those engaged in the change-making efforts described here.

As time goes on, I hope to build up resources to be able to offer more reduced-rate (possibly even pro-bono) support to activists and the other types listed here, which may look like grants or crowd-funding, potentially donations or other ideas I haven’t come to yet.

I currently live a nomadic life in my van, and my plans for offering ecotherapy services and workshops in person are currently taking shape. If you have land in western Canada and/or are interested in partnering or co-facilitating projects integrating mental health, personal development, ecological restoration, community-building, herbalism/foraging/wilderness skills, natural building and similar things, I encourage you to reach out and let me know what you’re all about! I’ve got a lot of ideas, and am very open to unexpected collaborations. Let’s do awesome things, do a bit to heal ourselves, our communities and our natural world!
